Episode 153 | Miguel A. Aragon

This week on Hello, Print Friend Miranda speaks with Miguel A. Aragon, associate professor at the City University of New York. We talk about his ambitious and process-driven practice, taking images from the headlines showing the realities of the violence of the drug wars in Juarez. He deconstructs them with burnt embossment and power tools, using these techniques as a metaphor for the erasure of the lives of the young men lost. And just a quick audio note, there was something going on with Miranda's mic through the first ten minutes or so of this recording. Apologies, please ignore it, it does go away as we keep recording, and don’t let that stop you from listening to Miguel talk about his amazing work.
