In this episode of pine|copper|lime Miranda speaks with Opal Ecker Deruvo a non-binary printmaker working in Norwalk, Connecticut. DeRuvo speaks about their early introduction to our craft at the Center for Contemporary Printmaking, developing their traditional draftsmanship skills in order to express the critical queer moments in their life with the reverence of a seventeenth-century portrait, taking advantage of the omnipresence of smart phones to capture the candid, and sisterhood in queer communities. We also explore the idea of tenderness as revolution and the strength it takes to hold on it the face of our often brutal world.
