This week on Hello, Print Friend Miranda speaks with Jeroen Smeets founder of The Jaunt a project that combines our favorite things: travel and printmaking. The Jaunt sends artists on short trips to somewhere they’ve never been and then publishes an edition based on their experiences. We’ll talk about how skateboarding and graffiti art brought Jeroen to the world of art, the logistical joy and pain of taking on such a project, and what happens when a global pandemic strikes and you’ve got an artist on a silent retreat in a Sri Lankan monastery.
