This week Miranda speaks with Simone Guaita from Il Bisonte International Printmaking School in Florence. Il Bisonte was founded by Simone’s great-aunt, Maria Guaita, in 1959. They talk about the exciting history of the school, including anti-fascist organizing, the school being nearly destroyed by a flood, when they printed for artists like Picasso and Wunderlich, and what it’s like today as a thriving institution hosting workshops for people around the world in their stunning local in one of the great art cities.
